About Teacher
Margaret began teaching piano at a quite young age under the caring and watchful mentoring of both her Piano and High School Music teachers whilst studying for an Associate Diploma. Now with over 45 years teaching experience at all ages and stages, in schools as a generalist and as a private Piano and Theory teacher, in group and private situations. Margaret firmly believes in the power of mentoring and the importance of constant professional development for teachers – principles she applies to the running of her music school. . Margaret has a thriving student cohort, both individually and within the school, with a philosophy of teaching which is inclusive of all ages, stages and genres. She takes time to encourage each student to develop at their level of expertise and interest. Margaret believes that music should be encouraged from early childhood in appropriate courses with well trained teachers, laying a solid background for a lifelong engagement with music. Music is often neglected in educational settings although scientifically proven to be of holistic benefit to those who learn.General Information
