About Teacher
Andrea M. Calilhanna is a PhD candidate at The MARCS Institute for Brain, Behaviour and Development, Western Sydney University, Brain Sciences. Andrea has 35 years of studio teaching experience in Piano, Saxophone, Musicianship and Music Theory and she has served on the Council of the Music Teachers’ Association of NSW for over 10 years. Andrea offers lessons for examinations and leisure for students of all ages, levels and interests. In 2018 Andrea completed a Master of Music (Musicology) at The University of Sydney, Sydney Conservatorium of Music where her research focused on musical meter with respect to psychoacoustics, mathematical music theory using the Ski-Hill Graph, circular cyclic graphs and beat-class. Andrea’s current research continues her interest in music curriculum development, mathematical music theory and African (Nigerian) music studies. Piano accompaniment is offered to students for grade examinations. Adult beginners welcome. Vacancies for Diplomas available.General Information
