About Teacher
A background in music; proficient in piano, clarinet and voice, I completed a Bachelor of Music in 2007 and later completed a Diploma in Secondary Education in 2012. Upon receiving my Diploma in Education, I worked at Newtown Public School (NPS), as the music specialist teacher and choral conductor and co-ordinator for five years, until moving to Adelaide in 2018. Since moving to Adelaide, I have worked as a music specialist at a variety of schools including Highgate School, Stirling East Primary School, Walford Anglican School for Girls, Cornerstone College, Mitcham Girls High School and more. During 2018 I also focused on my area of expertise and passion; developing the musical talent and skill of young people. I began working as a tutor with the Australian Girls Choir (AGC) and became an examiner in voice and woodwind for the Australian Music Examination Board (AMEB). Working as a singing teacher for over 15 years, and as a tutor with AGC I have expertise developing individual musical potential and performance confidence in students. As an examiner with AMEB I have wealth of experience assessing a wide range of instrumentalists and vocalists (beginner to advanced), to determine performance standards and appropriate repertoire choice, aural and sight-reading skills, and a student’s ability to understand and apply music theory. I am well-versed in the SA music curriculum, understand appropriate performance benchmarks and how to work with individuals’ strengths and interests to develop students as musicians in concert with set aims and outcomes.General Information
