Piano - Joshua Park


About Teacher

Joshua Park was born in 1996 at Auckland, New Zealand from a pianist mother Lily Kim and an opera singer (baritone) father William Park. They moved to Sydney, Australia in 2000 and trained piano, cello, flute, classical voice and composition at Lily Kim Music Academy founded by his mother. He predominantly studied piano under Lily Kim and achieved grade exams and Diploma music for piano and other instruments from the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM). In 2010, he took private lesson with Tessa Nicholson and Ian Brown at Oxford Philomusica piano festival in London. In 2011 he attended Australian Performing Arts Grammar School with full scholarship then at the age of 15 in 2012, he escalated and started the Bachelor of Music course at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts under Professor Kyunghee Lee and Jemma Kim for piano. He continued and completed the Bachelor of Music (2015) and also completed Master of Music (2017) at the Australian Institute of Music under Dr. Wojciech Wisniewski for piano and supervision. At the age of 18 in 2015, he completed the Bachelor course and continued Master of Music at the Australian Institute of Music under Dr. Wojciech Wisniewski for piano and supervision. He completed Master of Music theses on “Preparation for a performance with an orchestra – Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No. 2 (2015)”, “Compositional techniques that have been paraphrased by Franz Liszt of Giuseppe Verdi’s opera Rigoletto – Rigoletto Paraphrase (2015)” and “A case study of Alberto Ginastera’s Danzas Argentinas Op. 2 and the traditional Argentine music style (2016)” all have been supervised by Dr. Wojciech Wisniewski. Currently at the age of 20 in 2017, he is studying Master of Music Studies (performance) with a Kathleen & Allison Short Scholarship at Sydney Conservatorium of Music, The University of Sydney under Dr. Paul Rickard-Ford for piano.
