Boon took the opportunity to not only stretch and challenge me on the instrument, but also develop in me an appreciation of a broader sense of tonalities, harmonies and music history... That I continue to devote a significant amount of time to music given my full-time job and other competing priorities and interests is a testament to the love of music that Boon imbued within me. The musical successes I have enjoyed (winning concerto competitions, earning scholarships and performing solo recitals) are also in no small part due to his guidance and dedication.
