Drum Kit - Duane Manning

About Teacher

Duane has had a wide range of performance experiences over his years as a musician including tribute shows, corporate cover bands, big band jazz/funk, psychedelic/progressive rock and marching drumline. He has been teaching drums and percussion for over 10 years and is highly experienced in teaching all musical styles from beginner to advanced. Duane can prepare students for various exams including AMEB, CPM and VCE. Duane has a Bachelor of Arts in Popular Music and Performance and has learnt from many of Australia’s most respected drummers and his performance strengths include jazz, funk, fusion, rock, blues, latin, big band, chart reading, rudimental snare solos and marching drumline. STUDENT TESTIMONIAL I have been attending drumming lessons with Duane for the past twelve months and highly recommend him. He is a most accomplished drummer which is demonstrated by his participation in bands and drum lines. Duane is a very patient teacher, which is especially appreciated as I am a mature age student, and he has made considerable improvement in my drumming since I have been under his tuition. He does not ignore areas that I consider important to my progress and wellbeing such as ergonomics and efficient playing methods. Drumming technique is high on his agenda which is leading me towards a more competent and musical outcome. At the same time, I am having heaps of fun and enjoying the whole experience. I look forward to each lesson. I have a lot to learn and I feel confident in Duane’s teaching and mentoring skills to help me keep focussed, enthusiastic and obtain the results I hope for.
